Thank you serena for the joy you give every person of colour via your endeavours on the tennis court.
I stayed up to watch you win your tenth slam title and they say you are the 7th woman to achieve that feat.Hopefully i will be alive to see you win the most slam than anybody-man or woman.
I am a black psychiatrist living in europe and i have followed your career enthusiastically and from the day you and your sister "gatecrashed" into tennis and started winning you did wonders for the pride and belief of every person of colour and as a black person you gave us hope on the same scale as obama becoming president has done.
I pray that GOD continue to bless you and your family especially your Dad who i adore for his efforts in your early career.
Till today,i still get angry thinking about a match you played in the french open in which the crowd were ,for the want of a better word,outrightly biased and any time you win the french open myself and my sons(aged 3yrs and 4yrs then)lose some of that anger.
Please win the french open for us.
