Serena stops Venus; Advances to SEO FINAL

On Thursday night, the Williams Sisters faced each other for the 20th time in their stellar careers. What was at stake? For Serena, retaining the #1 ranking. A loss would have dropped her to #2 and Dinara Safina would have taken her place. For Venus, a win would vault her to #3 in the world. When it was all said and done, Serena refused to give up the keys to the WTA Penthouse.

Serena defeated older sister Venus, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Their head to head match up is now evenly split, 10 wins each. There were some awesome rallies and phenomenal ball-striking. Serena appeared to be limping in the 3rd set but she charged on to claim her spot in Saturday's Final where she will take on 19-year-old Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, who beat Svetlana Kuznetsova, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5.

I really hate to see them play each other because I don't want to see either of them lose.
