The top men and women tennis players in the world have committed to play in the 2009 Western & Southern Financial Group Tennis Masters & Women’s Open. The women’s event runs Aug. 10-16, while the men’s event will be played Aug. 17-23. The women will be led into play by Dinara Safina, the top ranked player in the world. She’ll get a stern challenge from the Williams sisters -- number two ranked Serena and third ranked Venus. Of the top 20 women in the world, 18 have entered the tournament.
