Venus and Serena Williams defeated Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Nadia Petrova 6-2, 6-2 in Semifinal doubles action at the Bank of the West Classic. Team Williams advances to their 3rd doubles final of the year, having already won doubles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Team Williams will play the winner of the semifinal match between Yung-Jan Chan (TPE) / Monica Niculescu (ROU) and Sorana Cirstea (ROU / Maria Kirilenko (RUS).
The last WTA Tour (Non-Grand Slam) doubles title that the Williams Sisters won was Hanover in 1999. The Bank of the West Classic Doubles Championship will air tomorrow on the TENNIS CHANNEL at 9:30pm EST.
