Serena Williams geared up for her first event since winning a third Wimbledon title and emerged a winner. She opened her summer hardcourt campaign Tuesday night with a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory against Li Na of China. Serena hit 3 aces and an uncharacteristic 7 double faults. Her serve percentage for the match was 45%. She won 77% of her 1st serves and 56% of her 2nd serves. Li Na is no pushover and she played great tennis. Congratulations Serena, on to the next round.
